We've reached the end of another year! It's absolutely flown over and we're taking a moment to review our numbers.
We always encourage clients to pause and reflect so you can track your numbers, business goals and actively plan ahead. It’s also a great opportunity to look back at what’s gone well and celebrate your successes! (and who doesn’t like celebrating? Especially at this time of year!)
Reflection is an ongoing activity for us, we really do practice what we preach and keep up to date with our numbers on a regular basis. Every December we set aside some time to look back on our business performance for the year….in numbers of course.

- 82 successful R&D tax credit claims submitted, saving clients an average of £44k.
- 35 SEIS/EIS claims submitted.
- 65 new clients welcomed.
- 3 award wins. 1 award shortlist.
- 30.3 tonnes equivalent of CO2 emissions. Less than half the industry average. We’re aiming to be Net Zero by 2025!
- 31 podcast guests, 22 live podcast episodes.
- 681 minutes of podcast content recorded.
- 43 blogs and case studies published.
- 6 new team members.
- 2848 bank transactions on average per client. 835377 in total!
- 26 total number of Blu Sky socials, full team meetings and locations (worked from). We worked in London, York, Manchester, Kelso, Fuerteventura, Liverpool, Edinburgh, Berlin, Leipzig, Belfast, Coventry… and not forgetting Seaton Sluice!
- 2 team members passed their exams. 2 are in progress.
- 1 x marriage, engagement and baby.
- 3 house moves.
- 5 new pets.
What else happened in 2022?
This year we’ve continued to grow both our services and team, everyone has worked incredibly hard and it’s been recognised by three award wins! We were absolutely delighted to win Medium Firm of The Year Award at this year’s Accounting Excellence Awards.
We also took home the award for Accountancy Firm of the Year (Under 50 employees) and our very own Nicole Third, won the award for Rising Star Tax Adviser of the Year at the North East Accountancy Awards.
