We’re delighted to share that Gill Hunter has joined Blu Sky as Board Advisor.

Gill brings more than 25 years’ commercial legal experience, senior leadership expertise and a brilliant understanding of ambitious, purpose-led businesses.

Her appointment marks an exciting next step for Blu Sky as we continue to grow, strengthen our strategic advisory support and help more businesses scale with confidence.

Supporting Blu Sky’s next stage of growth

At Blu Sky, we work with ambitious companies across the UK to help them grow, make better decisions and build strong financial foundations for the future.

As our own business continues to evolve, we’re always looking at how we can bring more value to our clients, our team and the wider business community. Gill’s appointment will support that next stage of growth, bringing fresh perspective, commercial insight and extensive leadership experience to the Board.

As one of the North East’s first tech lawyers, Gill has spent more than 25 years advising ambitious businesses on technology, intellectual property and commercial contracts. She was Managing Partner of Square One Law, the Newcastle-headquartered commercial law firm and certified B Corp, joining the firm as Managing Partner in 2018 and leading the firm’s cultural transformation programme and brand development.

Shared values and purpose-led business

Blu Sky became B Corp certified in 2024, reflecting our commitment to building a business that balances commercial success with positive impact.

Gill’s experience leading and scaling a purpose-led professional services business makes her a fantastic fit for Blu Sky. She understands the opportunities and challenges that come with growth, especially for businesses in the technology and professional services sectors.

She is also a well-known voice in the regional business community, chairing the NECC Digital Forum and sitting on the Regional Council, chairing the British Chambers of Commerce Workplace Equity Commission and acting as a trustee of West End Women and Girls’ Centre.
Her expertise in commercial strategy, inclusive leadership and values-led growth will support us as we continue to develop our advisory offering, expand our reach and help more ambitious businesses grow sustainably.

A brilliant addition to the Board

Jon Dudgeon, Blu Sky Co-founder and CEO, said:

“We’re absolutely delighted to welcome Gill to the Blu Sky Board as an Advisor. Gill brings exactly the kind of senior commercial, scale-up and leadership experience that will help take Blu Sky to the next level. She understands ambitious businesses, particularly in the technology and professional services space, and she shares our belief that growth should be both commercially strong and values-led.

“Her experience, energy and perspective will be hugely valuable as we continue to develop the business and support more clients to grow with confidence.”

Gill’s appointment comes at an exciting time for Blu Sky, as we continue to build on our work supporting businesses with financial planning, forecasting, scale-up advice and strategic decision-making.

Gill Hunter added: “I’ve known Blu Sky for some time and have always admired the team’s energy, ambition and values. I’m really pleased to be joining the Board as an Advisor and look forward to supporting Jon, Dave and the wider team as Blu Sky continues to grow.”

Looking ahead

We’re really excited to have Gill working with us as we continue to grow Blu Sky in a way that stays true to who we are.

For us, growth is about more than numbers. It’s about building a strong, sustainable business, supporting our team, helping clients make confident decisions and staying committed to our values along the way.

Gill’s insight and experience will be a huge asset as we continue on that journey.
