Could you be our next client relationship director (CRD)?

Founded in 2008, Blu Sky employs over 20 people across two teams: our delivery team of accountants and tax experts and our client relationship directors are located where ever the client needs them!

This year we won Accounting Excellence’s Medium Firm of the Year, along with a double win at North East Accountancy Awards, Firm of the Year (under 50 employees) and Rising Star Tax Advisor. In 2018 we won Xero Firm of the year, and over the last few years our ambition to grow nationally from our base in the North East as gathered momentum. We are looking to hire talented individuals that will help it continue.

The Role

As a Client Relationship Director,  reporting directly to our CFO and CoFounder, it will be your responsibility to delight clients by becoming their trusted adviser, helping to grow our business. Using your highly developed technical and relationship management skills you’ll be able to provide strategic thinking and business model support to both client businesses and Blu Sky, allowing the co-founders to focus on what they do best.

The role of client relationship director will scale with the client business as it grows. After initially helping to scope and evolve the business model and financial plan, the CRD should ensure that the business scales with strategic insight and effective financial processes.

Purpose of a CRD

To behave as a role model for your clients and other team members by demonstrating Blu Sky values and an outward mindset, and to inspire client relationships through delivering the vision.

Responsibilities include:

  • Accountability for a portfolio of clients
  • Credit control for your portfolio
  • Signing off year end accounts via a practicing certificate
  • Coaching and mentoring staff
  • Participating in Blu Sky product development
  • Networking and managing key business relationships
  • Sales to existing fee bank
  • Sales to new clients to grow client fee bank
  • Strategic input and ownership via OKR’s

The CRD role is measured against the following metrics for success

  • Client retention
  • Positive feedback – ENPS and CNPS

  • Delivery of OKR effort responsibilities

Hiring Process

We try to give feedback to you if your application is unsuccessful, this is not always possible. The interview  is as much about giving you the opportunity to find out as much as possible about us and our company as it is about us finding out about you and your capabilities. With that philosophy in mind, we will be running the following selection process to ensure that each candidate is given a comprehensive view of what we are all about:

  • Screening – We will review your application
  • If successful, the completion of a behavioural competency questionnaire
  • Stage One – Initial interview with two senior members of the Blu Sky team.
  • Stage Two – A brief presentation to be delivered to the senior management team ahead of the stage three interview
  • Stage Three – Interview with the senior team where we can discuss the results of the presentation and you can ask any further questions
  • Stage Four informal chat with our CFO
