Case Study: Dynamo, Supporting Collaboration Across the North East's Tech Sector

We spoke to North East Tech Network, Dynamo North East’s Director, Sarah Thackray, to find out how Blu Sky helped them to build integrated accounts processes that save time and support them to push the organisation forward.

Tell us a bit about Dynamo

Dynamo is an industry led, not-for-profit operating in the North East tech sector. Our core aim is to grow the region’s tech economy through collaboration, innovation and skills.

We currently have over 150 members from varying backgrounds including IT organisations, large corporate employers, education providers, public sector bodies and suppliers to the sector.

What did Blu Sky help Dynamo with?

We approached Blu Sky as we’d made the decision to outsource our accounts and wanted to work with a forward thinking, supportive team when doing so. Blu Sky came on board to help us implement some practical solutions, whilst offering a fresh approach and new ways of working.

They recommended we introduce a direct debit payment option for our annual membership renewals and they also helped us tighten up our credit control processes. Both changes have helped us work in a more efficient way, saving time and resource whilst also benefiting our network members by simplifying the process for them.

We’ve been working together for a year now and have always felt very supported.

What’s next?

Blu Sky are currently helping us with our financial forecasting, which will really help with future planning and growth. New funding opportunities and the current pandemic change the landscape frequently for Dynamo and the Blu Sky team really understands this and are happy to adapt and change with us.
